Prince Darling

Client: Bakti Lingkungan Djarum Foundation | Director: Rein Maychaelson | Year: 2020

Sante Productions (in collaboration with Studio Antelope) brought to life Prince Darling The Series, a branded web series that weaves activism into narrative with youth appeal. The story follows a spoiled crown prince, Darling (played by Luthfi Aulia), who is sent into the future by his father the king. His mission: plant 100,000 trees at temple sites across Java. Only then can he reclaim his throne. Meanwhile, Darla (played by Rachel Amanda), a young student, becomes his companion and moral compass along the journey.

The concept originated from Siap Darling’s “Candi Darling” program, which aims to rejuvenate temple sites and foster environmental awareness among millennials and Gen Z. Rather than a documentary or campaign ad, the series uses fiction to engage viewers: turning the ecological mission into a compelling story they want to follow.

The production leans on a mix of influencer-driven casting, cinematic visuals, and youthful pacing. Because the core audience is digitally native, Prince Darling balances meaningful messaging with entertainment—not pushing, but inviting viewers to become part of the action rather than passive observers.
